Islamic Relief Established in 1984 in the UK, Islamic Relief is an international NGO seeking to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development activities. We aim to help the needy regardless of race, religion or gender. The main sectors we are involved in are: Education and Vocational Training, Health and Nutrition, Water and Sanitation, Income generation, Emergency Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Orphans Support. Our core geographical areas of operations are: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, (Central Europe), Azerbaijan and Chechnya (Central Asia), Bangladesh, India and Pakistan (South Asia), Gaza Strip (Palestinian Autonomous Area), Mali and Sudan (Africa). Islamic Relief is an NGO in consultative status (category special) with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Context of Work Islamic Relief implements its projects through regional field offices. Our field offices deal with our three main programmes of Orphan Welfare, Emergency and Relief Programmes and Development Projects. Islamic Relief has been active in The Republic of Albania since1991. Our operations are implemented in all Albania Country. Due to the current projects that Islamic Relief Albania implementing; there are some ongoing projects as following; • Orphans welfare Program. • Water Well • Implementing Seasonal Programs such as Ramadan food packets and Qurban meat distribution. • Training programs. • Health Centers • Development Projects • Emergency Program.
